Europa Nostra delegation revisited Serbian monastery Dečani in July 2022 after objections from Pristina considering enlistment of Dečani as one of 7 most endangered monuments in Europe in 2021.  Europa Nostra experts asserted that the main reasons to enlist monastery Visoki Dečani as one of the most vulnerable monuments in Europe are still existing. After a series of talks with political, religious, and international representatives, Europa Nostra team assesses that due to „complex security challenges” the monastery needs to remain guarded 24/7 by the international KFOR troops.

Monastery Visoki Dečani is enlisted in UNESCO’s World Heritage List along with three other Serbian Orthodox holy sites at Kosovo and Metohia: Patriarchate of Peć Monastery, Gračanica Monastery and Church of the Holy Virgin of Ljevisa.
