During the visit to the Holy See First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic also met with Secretary of State of His Holiness the Pope Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

In addition to discussing advancement of bilateral relations and cooperation, they also addressed the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

Minister Dacic informed Cardinal Parolin about the current status of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina and underlined genuine commitment of the Republic of Serbia to dialogue.

Secretary of State Parolin pointed out that the Holy See was closely following the developments in the Balkans and Belgrade-Pristina negotiations in that context.

The head of Serbian diplomacy once again expressed gratitude to Secretary of State Parolin for the principled position of the Holy See not to recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo.
