Belgrade, 20 Oct 2014 – Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic today expressed gratitude to Papal Nuncio Orlando Antonini for Vatican’s generous help given to Serbia during the recent floods, and informed him about the progress made in rebuilding the flooded areas.

Vucic said he appreciates the balanced position of the Vatican on all regional issues, and also expressed his gratitude over the principled stance of the Vatican not to recognise the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija.

Antonini said that Caritas continues to provide assistance, noting that it is most important that the people in the affected areas recover spiritually.

They also discussed the agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education, as well as cooperation between the National Library of Serbia and the Vatican.
